Easy Mississippi Pot Roast
Mississippi Pot Roast
Prep Time: 5
Cook Time: 8 hours
Ingredients:
3-4 lbs Chuck Roast
1 small jar (12-16oz) pepperoncini or banana peppers (whole or sliced)
1 packet powder ranch dressing mix
1 packet au jus powder mix (or 1 packet brown gravy powder mix)
Butter (optional)
Water (optional)
Instructions:
In the bottom of the crock pot, place the Chuck Roast. On top of the roast, sprinkle the packet of ranch dressing mix and the packet or au jus mix (or brown gravy mix). Add approximately ½ the jar of banana peppers and about ½ the jar of banana pepper juice. You can add less peppers and juice for a less intense banana pepper taste, or more for a stronger taste. I found about ½ of the jar is perfect.
Place 2-4 slices of butter (about a ½ tablespoon each) on top (optional). Water can be added if desired (I wouldn’t add more than ¼ to ½ cup). However, plenty of juices are cooked out of the roast.
Cook on low for 8 hours.
Serve with a favorite vegetable or side.
