RV Park / RV Campground – Yellowstone Grizzly RV Park

Situated a convenient four blocks from Yellowstone’s West entrance and just steps from shopping, dining and an assortment of entertainment and activities, Yellowstone Grizzly RV Park has so many things to love. Wide, sweeping drives and angled pads make navigating and setting up your rig a breeze. The park is beautifully maintained and landscaped and offers plenty of amenities and a variety of sites to meet any RVer’s needs. While the park doesn’t allow tent camping, they do offer dry sites and electric/cable- only sites for smaller campers which include 24-hour access to bathhouses and laundry facilities. For those wanting full hook-ups, another six different types of sites ranging from 25 to 80 feet are available; both back-in and pull-through options are offered. For those desiring more shade and privacy, there are sites that back up along the forest edge and there are several sections of the park that offer larger, more mature trees.
We stayed in a premium back-in, satellite friendly site that backed up to the quiet South Faithful Street on the edge of town. These sites don’t have much in the way of trees or shade, but they do offer an adjoining cement pad for parking your toad or vehicle. Our only complaint was the location of the hook-ups and some of the shrubbery around the site. We have a Class A, front entry motorhome with three slides. The hook-ups are awkwardly located extremely close to the edge of the parking pad and are surrounded by bushes. We had to pay extra attention to where we parked so that our slides didn’t hit the electrical box. Also, we had a hard time opening our basement doors on the driver’s side all the way due to the location of the shrubs and hook-ups.
The amenities are plentiful at this RV park and while there is no pool, you’ll find a playground, access to hiking/walking trails, pet run areas, a pavilion that can be reserved for larger groups, bathhouses, laundry facilities and a well-stocked store. We especially loved the access to the hiking/walking trails behind the RV park just on the other side of the fence through well-marked locations. We walked our dogs on several of the flat, wide trails and signage showed there were miles of trails. Accessing the park is extremely easy thanks to wide streets and a large parking area for checking in. Pro tip – bring plenty of mosquito repellent. When the sun goes down, those annoying biting bugs come out in swarms – no exaggeration. We have portable insect zappers and between those and the bug spray, we and our dogs were able to enjoy sitting outside in the evenings.
