10. Campground – While there are a plethora of RV parks and campgrounds to choose from, Campark Resorts was a great choice for many reasons. Affordability and accessibility are two things that make it stand out from the crowd. Home to a bus stop, the campground makes getting around town and to attractions very easy for their guests. Also boasting several fun activities and amenities for kids, this campground is ready to host families as they visit Niagara Falls.
9. Food Scene – Situated on a hill overlooking the falls, the little town of Niagara Falls is not void of restaurants and charming spots to tickle your palate. Spanning the food spectrum and friendly to kids and foodies alike, everyone can find something to enjoy. Visitors can choose between rooftop, upscale dining atop a hotel overlooking the falls or a more casual fare on a veranda overlooking the street below. Don’t neglect to travel a couple of blocks up to the many other local dives in town.
8. Lights/Fireworks – With Niagara Falls as the backdrop, the nightly firework display is a memory to remember for a lifetime. Along with the fireworks show, the falls are illuminated at night with a vibrant display of color. The rotation of colors provides viewers the chance to take in the vastness of the falls at the end of the day. Make sure to plan a night to stay up and out late so that you don’t miss this amazing show.
7. Pass and Bus System – When planning a trip to the Canadian side of the falls, buying an attraction pass will save money and time. Based on the length of stay and the number of attractions that guests hope to visit, choose a level for the pass and purchase ahead of time. One of the best features of the pass is the inclusion of the bus system. With stops and routes all around the city, the buses help preserve energy and aid in getting from attraction to attraction with ease.
6. The Tunnel at the Niagara Parks Power Station – One of the newer attractions to the Canadian side is The Tunnel at the Niagara Parks Power Station. This educational experience showcases the relationship between water and power by diving into the history of the power plant and the way it harnessed the power of the water to create electricity for 100 years. As if this display isn’t fantastic enough, a ride in a glass elevator down to a 2,200-foot-long tunnel really caps off the attraction. The tunnel opens up to an observation deck with a breathtaking view.
5. Journey Behind the Falls – Don’t miss this behind-the-scenes glimpse of the powerful Niagara Falls. Upon receiving a sporty blue pancho, guests step into the elevator to descend more than 100 feet into the 130-year-old tunnels. Here, visitors find viewing portals and an observation deck that allows them to experience the power of the falls like never before.
4. Whitewater Walk – This attraction provides ample opportunity to get down to the level of the river and truly experience its power and force. The Whitewater Walk is a self-guided quarter-mile walk along a boardwalk providing another perspective to the river and the volume of water that the Niagara River holds. While down at the river’s edge, the roar of the moving water makes for a calming background effect as visitors immerse themselves in nature.
3. Whirlpool Aero Car – Suspended 200 feet above the Niagara River, this ride of a lifetime offers spectacular views of the rapids down below in the Niagara Gorge. One of the most interesting features of this attraction is that visitors cross over the international border while on the ride. A standing ride, the car offers views in all directions and plenty of opportunity to soak in the beauty of the surroundings.
2. Maid of the Mist/Niagara City Cruises – Known as a longstanding vehicle for giving guests unforgettable experiences, these boat cruises to the falls are non-negotiable when planning an itinerary to Niagara Falls. Donning red panchos from Canada and blue panchos from the United States, guests get up close and personal with the falls. These boat cruises provide a unique perspective for viewing the power of the water. It’s unlike any other attraction.
1. Cave of the Winds – An attraction unique to the American side of the falls, the self-guided Cave of the Winds tour, is unique with each season of the year. After descending in an elevator and suiting up in the standard blue pancho, guests are pointed in the direction of a boardwalk and staircase structure that allows them to adventure as far “into” the falls as they’d like. Waterproof footwear is a necessity for this attraction.
