Perched atop a mesa just 15 minutes south of the heart of Durango lies Durango Ranch RV Resort. Though on the smaller side, this RV park packs a mighty punch with gorgeous, unimpeded views of the mountains, large-level sites and amenities galore. Durango Ranch RV Resort was opened in 2022 by Tanner and Tori Kroeger to supplement their 5th and 6th generation farming business. Family ties to Durango and the land run deep, as the Kroeger family’s ancestors raced for the land in the late 1800s and were some of the original homesteaders in the area. Proudly displayed in the large office are original pieces of antique farming equipment, tack, tools and even the original cash register from the family hardware store.

Being RVers themselves, the Kroeger family designed their RV park thoughtfully and carefully. The 19 gravel, full hook-up sites are large and flat; each is double the width of regular RV sites. Gravel runs the entire length of the double-wide sites, ensuring that your rig stays clear of grass or mud. You can also be confident that you’ll avoid tracking grass, dirt and mud into your RV after afternoons spent enjoying the mountain views under your site’s bright, blue skies. Each site has a large picnic table to enjoy, and as newly planted trees and shrubs grow, sites will enjoy maturing landscaping and greenery between each site.

Several outdoor seating areas are scattered around the park to enjoy. Grab a steak and grill out on the community BBQ grill, located under a small shelter with plenty of seating and incredible views of the surrounding mountains. A comfortable seating area around a gas fire pit next to the hot tub is near the center of the park. You can spend evenings sipping wine next to the fire pit or relaxing under the stars in the large hot tub. The front office offers tables and chairs to enjoy and fresh-popped popcorn. The small store offers essentials and snacks, drinks and coffee. Be sure to snap pictures of the beautiful, classic truck displayed in the office. Bathrooms are large, clean and meticulously maintained daily. And if you have a fur baby with endless energy, you’ll be thrilled at the large fenced-in dog-run area where Fido can run and play until his heart is content. Even the huge “fur babies” haven’t been forgotten, as guests traveling with horses can rent a horse stall for their large, four-legged family members.

Every bit of Durango Ranch RV Resort has been thoughtfully designed and built. Surrounded by the working ranch of the Kroeger family, the RV park provides a front-seat view of this hard-working family’s passion; the RV park is another reflection of their hard work and dedication to that passion. Tanner, Tori and their children work hard to ensure every guest is happy and that the RV park is maintained beautifully. This park is more than just a place to park your rig.
